Hello La Cantera Members and Programs Participants,

I hope this message finds you well.  We are thinking about all of you and hoping that our La Cantera family come through these current difficulties successfully. I'd like to update you on La Cantera's plans. We are following the Shelter in Place mandate that was issued by both county and state authorities and La Cantera is currently closed.  During the closure, La Cantera is suspending dues for all members.  This suspension of dues is effective as of March 18th, the beginning date of the Sonoma County order.  We will not be sending updated statements until we have some sort of firm idea of our reopening date. We are checking the phones daily and picking up mail. The club asks you to respect the county and state order to shelter in place, which we do not believe allows for congregating for doubles, particularly people from four different households, follows their guidance.  Please show patience with the current crisis and protect yourself and others by respecting the Shelter in Place order.

Our most immediate item to deal with is swim lessons. We'd like to proactively plan to have our swim lesson program. Our planned in-person sign-ups on Tuesday, March 24th will not be happening. For the most part, everything is being handled offsite, including the swim lesson sign-ups. Our current plan is to have nine weeks of swim lessons starting on June 8th with private lessons at 9:00 AM-12:00 noon as well as 4:00 PM-6:30 PM.  Morning lessons are available to be individually scheduled Monday-Thursday and afternoon lessons Monday-Friday, except for Wednesdays all weeks. For morning lessons with senior staff, lessons must be scheduled for all four days. Initially, we are only making private lessons available, with a possibility of group lessons being put back into the schedule at a later date.  This will keep the pools relatively quiet during swim lessons and currently this seems like the best idea. We will not be taking any payments for swim lessons at this time, only sign-ups with a plan to bill you at a later date if summer starts to normalize and we are able to have our lesson program. Please use the website to email me with your wishes for swim lessons and the best contact number for the parent who will be in charge of sign-ups. We will work to take care of this in a quick and efficient fashion. Please reach us soon with your swim lesson requests as well will be opening up the swim lessons to the public as planned on April 6th.

We also hope to have a full and active tennis camp program this summer if circumstances permit. That information is on our website. Feel free to email us or leave a message on the club phone. We would be happy to hear from you.

Stay safe and take care!
